| New
Advisor™
Facility to Automatically Tell You Something is Wrong |
|

New Video Demo! |
The new
z/IPMon Advisor feature takes the guesswork out of managing
your VSE TCP/IP System. Advisor processes your Retrospect
data according to a range of time you specify, and then will
automatically suggest and set Alerts based on changes
in your system. Using mathematically and statistically sound
principles, Advisor will determine what type of change is
significant enough to create an Alert. What this means is
z/IPMon determines what is important automatically, watches
your network performance and then TELLS you that you
potentially have an issue, all without you having to do
anything at all. |

Alert Management Expansion
and New Features |
|
New Video Demo!
|
Alerts are
one of the most valuable features of z/IPMon, because we
tell you when something is wrong BEFORE it causes a network
or system outage. Release 2.0 of z/IPMon features a
completely redesigned Alert management capability. You can
now have multiple "Alert Groups", for example one for your
online shift and another for your batch, as the
characteristics of your network change. You can also now
establish Alerts based on ANY criteria or combination of
data points. For example, you could receive an alert when a
particular connection (like your manager's!) reaches a
response time level that you know is not acceptable. |

New z/IPUtil™
Report Writing
Capability |
|
New Video Demo!
|
Release 2.0
of z/IPMon now ships with a complete Report Writer
capability called z/IPUtil. You can select any of the fields
of data that are captured and create a report with any of
the fields, in any order, complete with subtotal and sorting
abilities. Rather than create "canned" reports which may be
too limiting, we gave you the ability to report on
whatever you need, with simple, easy to understand "select"
type statements in the JCL. |

Enhanced Packet Trace
Facility - Open Directly in Wireshark |
|

New Video Demo!
|
Our packet
trace facility is one of the most valuable tools in z/IPMon,
allowing you to easily look at a formatted trace of
connection handshakes, or data passing through your system.
In Release 1, we delivered the ability to start, stop and
view a formatted packet trace with just a click of a button
in the GUI interface. Now we've improved this capability by
adding one more button which will open the z/IPMon trace
data in the popular (and free!) WireShark trace analysis
program offering additional diagnostic capabilities. |

Better Flexibility and
Management of Retrospect™
Archive Data |
Switch Command
All of
z/IPMon's data is recorded in our Retrospect Archive dataset
on your VSE mainframe. With Retrospect, you can "go back in
time" with the click of a button to see the actual
information and status of your TCP/IP system at a previous
point in time. Release 2 now supports multiple Retrospect
files and automatic or console command based switching to
ensure you never lose any data. Any of the Retrospect files
may also be used as input to z/IPUtil as a data source.

Integrated Messages
Console and Message Notification Bar |
z/IPMon Console
z/IPMon Message Notification
The new release of
z/IPMon now includes a new Message Notification Bar at the
top of the screen, next to the Alert Notification Bar, so
you can tell at a glance on the z/IPMon Dashboard if there
are new messages that have been generated that may need your
attention. Instead of monitoring the VSE console, you can
see all messages from either TCP/IP or z/IPMon for one place
to go to for managing your TCP/IP system. |
